The last time i was in bangkok i stayed in Asia Hotel, this hotel provide bed n breakfast which has got good spread from western to local cuisine.Location is good where right infront there is a train station(commuter) near to MBK centre , siam square and also walking distant to Pratunam where shopping is a heaven with all the bargains.Near hotel outside is thai massage cost a mere USD3 for an hour.Hotel is at less than USD50 per night. U may want to go shopping to chakuchak by train from hotel .There are over 2000 stalls there for u to shop.Enjoy yr stay and im going to Phuket another 3 days time. Rgds allanckc@yahoo.com

The Chatuchak or Sunday market is not exactly in the heart of Bangkok city. However, it is very convenient to travel to downtown via the BTS skytrain system or the MTR subway system public transportations. There are not many hotels in Chatuchak area. The main ones are the Sofitel Central Plaza Bangkok Hotel or the Gold Orchid Hotel. Therefore, I would suggest staying at Sukhumvit area in the downtown area. It is the best location in Bangkok with various restaurants, shopping centers and entertainments. There are also many nice and reasonably priced hotels in Sukhumvit area such as Grand Mercure Park Avenue, Arnoma Bangkok Hotel, Novotel Lotus.

I suggest you check out www.excelloz.com. It provides easy access to all the information and description on Bangkok hotels and their locations. You can also read travel guides and hotel reviews of all the hotels in Bangkok.

There are not many hotels by the Sunday market, the good ones are across the expressway and will be a distance off. What I can recommend is for you to get a hotel close to the Skytrain or the MRTA underground system, they all go to the Chatuchak market and you avoid the traffic jam.

Places you can look for will be along Sukhumvit Rd, Chidlom Rd, Silom Rd and Phayathai. These are along the BTS Skytrain route.

Others around the MRTA stations can also be considered. Check out www.asiarooms.com for possible hotels within your budget and location.

final week, I stayed on the Landmark. Very handy for paying for (the Skytrain is a million/2 a block away and you purely could experience it for 2 stops to the mall). It replaced into approximately USD one hundred fifty in step with night for 2 human beings. It additionally has an exceedingly stable dinner buffet.
