Their bible is rather explicit:

"O Prophet! Make war [Jihad] against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is their destination." - Sura 9:73

"Fight and slay the idolaters (infidels) wherever ye find them, and seize them, take them captives, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every ambush and stratagem of war." - Sura 9:5.

"Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers." - Sura 2:98

"Kill them [unbelievers] wherever you find them. Fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah." - Sura 2:191- 193

"Fighting is enjoined on you, and it is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know." - Sura 2:216

I enjoyed Mlaheji's squirming to show that the Quran did not say what it actually did say. Regarding 9:73, the Arabic word is JIHAD. That means holy war, not "strive."

Mlaheji points out that the Muslim is obliged to convert the [Chritian and Jewish] infidels, as 9:6 admonishes. But if they fail to be converted, then the Muslim must slay them.

This gets even more grotesque. Mlaheji proceeds to quote 2_98. I give a better translation: "Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and messengers, to Gabriel and Michael,- Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith." And then he asks, "If you're my enemy, I'm your enemy. Fair enough?"

Not at all. When the Quran refers to an enemy in this context, it means a Jew or Christian who wishes to remain a Jew or a Christian. This makes him an "enemy," and the Muslim is enjoined to kill him for that reason. If you think that this is "fair enough," then I don't think you have a place in any decent society.

And so on with the other verses.

Here's an even bloodthirstier verse for reasonable people to consider, Sura 2:191: "And kill them [the Christian and Jewish 'infidels'] wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers. "

How sweet, you must kill them, but don't dirty the mosque with their impure blood.

Mlaheji tries to show us that he is unaware of the English idioms and called me a "Jew boy" as a form of compliment. What a nasty way of trying to escape the charge of anti-Semitism. I cannot believe that he is so ignorant.

Then he feigns ignorance of the Arabic text of the Quran. When the Quran calls for JIHAD against the "non-believing" Christians and Jews, he chooses to rely on an apologetic English translation, as though we infidels do not know the meaning of Jihad as a holy war against us.

Once again, Mlaheji thinks that we are fools to believe that he does not know the true meaning of the terms he uses.

He is a Jew-hater and a falsifier of the Quran.

I think the quotations you posted from the Qua'ran pretty much answers the question without a shred of doubt, and the rantings of Mlaheji only serve to validate what you said. His postings are a feeble attempt to "spin-doctor" the real message of the supposed "Glorious Qua'ran" and only serve to make the message of unilateral hate and murder more apparent to us lowly "infidels."

And I REALLY love this by him: "I'll pray for you, Jew boy."

For someone who is trying to prove that the Qua'ran is NOT a book of hate and murderous instructions but is instead a book promoting love and brotherhood , he sure is a racist you-know-what, huh?

I think you proved your point well, with a nice assist from Mlaheji.

Out of context, again...

-----------------------
The first one:

Where did you get that from?
All three famous translators have translated it as "strive", not fight.
Check it out here:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/009.qmt.html

-----------------------

The second one: read the very next verse

"And if one of the idolaters seek protection from you, grant him protection till he hears the word of Allah, then escort him to his place of safety; this is because they are a people who do not know."
[Qur'an 9:6]

Its obvious that this verse talks about war times. Plus if he asks, not only grant him protection, ESCORT HIM to his place of safety.

---------------------

The third one: you didn't even quote the complete verse.

"Whoever is the enemy of Allah and His angels and His messengers and Jibreel and Meekaeel, so surely Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers."
[Qur'an 2:98]

If you're my enemy, I'm your enemy. Fair enough?

---------------------------

The fourth one: heres the previous verse

"And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits."
[Qur'an 2:190]

Fight those who fight you, not fight just because they're unbelievers.

And the next verse:

"But if they desist, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
[Qur'an 2:192]

Basically, they're forgiven if they cease to fight you.

You didn't even quote 193 completely either:

"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers. "
[Qur'an 2:193]

------------------------------

The last one:
Whats wrong with this?

Its a duty of a Muslim to fight in defense of his land, family, and religion.
Fighting isn't exactly pleasant, but you have to do it if necessary.
And you will be rewarded for it.

====================
====================
====================
====================

All the three translators translated it as "strive". They and I know what it means, better than you Jews do.

"Mlaheji points out that the Muslim is obliged to convert the [Chritian and Jewish] infidels, as 9:6 admonishes. But if they fail to be converted, then the Muslim must slay them."

WHAT an outright lie. Typical Israeli lies. But its not your fault. You were taught lies since your youth, I understand.

Funny, you forgot the magic word "context" in your other straw-man arguments. And I did give the context of 2:191.

No use debating with you.

I'll pray for you, Jew boy.

le׳hitra׳ot
Ma3assalaamah

================

Jew boy is racist now?
Sheesh, you guys are paranoid.
A Muslim wouldn't be offended if you call him Muslim boy, nor would a Christian if you call him Christian boy.
Or do you hate your own people's name? Seriously?

Ivri's second attempt at proving his point is more pathetic than anything I've ever seen. Using powdered bricks wont make a house.

===================
===================

What DON'T Israelis find Anti-Semitic anyway? Anything and anyone that disagrees with them?

I don't hate Jews, though I am starting to feel a strong dislike toward you. And are you not a "Jewish male"?
If you find that offensive, then lighten up, for G-d's sake.

Once again, the followers of the Qur'an, and Arabic speakers, know what the word Jihad means better than you and other enemies of Islam do. Thats not ignorance, its knowledge. You only gain by twisting my words and those of the Qur'an around.

The fact that you're reusing, or tried to reuse, the broken arguments which I had most successfully torn down, shows your hate for Islam, Muslims and the Qur'an. A quick look through your answer proves that fact.

It is you who is a falsifier of the Qur'an, not me.

I do not expect you to apologize. Its a fact that Israel has never apologized for any of its "mistakes" which killed thousands of mostly innocent Palestinians over the years, and I don't expect you to be any different. But I do hope you learn something from this.

I dont think so or every muslim would be a terrorist killing every non- believer.
but i think there are people who can use this to twist people into what they want them to do. i think in the muslim world there are alot of poor people and the only thing they have going for them is religion, so the passion is 10 times stronger then ours maybe meaning more extremists

Their politicians use the Koran as a base for their politics.
This is not a religious war but a war for power,political and economic power.

I would venture to say that YES, the basic teachings of this religion seems to project violence, or at least it is certainly interpreted that way by the radical element, but then again so do some Christians , and other faiths, with whichever their particular book of teaching is, to fit their personal agendas. You can take just about any religion/teaching and twist and distort it to say what you wish to project.

No i don't think its is their regligon that motivates terror, but rather some bad apples in their religion. There are always bad apples in every regligon and some people take it to the extreme. Think about the KKK they considered themselves a religion, and they were aggressive towards coloured people, so it was just a bunch of people who are bad apples. Religon is responisble for almost all wars because of conflicting beliefs of who is the supreme person whenether its god, allah or the devil (to some people??)

You make quite a valid point in your question. If someone were to take every one of those verses quoted literally it could definitely be argued that it is the religion leading to violence. I will bring up another religion that has similair styles in its holy book:

If two men have words together, and one begin to fight against
the other, and the other's wife willing to deliver her husband out of
the hand of the stronger, shall put forth her hand, and take him by the
secrets, Thou shalt cut off her hand, neither shalt thou be moved with
any pity in her regard.

--- Deuteronomy 25:11
Basically its saying if someone's wife grabs the genetals of another man to stop them from from fighting, we're supposed to cut off her hand. An interesting point, but it goes to show that there can be some danger taking all religious drviel seriously.

All you need is love
--John Lennon
that religion works fine with me.
