I guess it really depends on what the inspector wants to do, if he wants then for himselld, he may just confiscate them, and send you on your way.If he wants to play hardball, he can arrest you, and take them for himself.

A customs official will hold you down while another federal agent pounds those communist stogies where the sun don't shine...
Kind of an object lesson I guess.
It is pretty horrible that the government won't let you keep cigars that support a brutal repressive regime that people are literally dying to get away from.
Oh well.

I guess the cigars would probably be confiscated for some (current or future) US president to play with them with his mistress (like Penis Clinton did with Monica Lewinsky).

They will be confiscated at the border! They won't let them in. There are paths to bring them in through other countries, but eventually you will come to the US border and snatch them they will.
If you have them in the country already, I think, that they won't do anything specifically to you unless you are trying to distribute them like drugs or something. It really gets sticky on which cop you get and how much they really care.

how many cigars, truckoad or a box. You could face federal criminal prosecution. but my guess is that they will confiscate your booty, scare the crap out of you and send you on your way, or maybe they're having a bad day and you become the example
