for me the experience was very hard, because i went to visit for myfather last summer and a lot of mormons tryed to convert. my father is adept to mormon(he isn´t mormon) but he doesnt like that i am catholic, and he tryed to forced to convert to mormon.
i have to move out his house because he doens´t accepto my religion.
he told me i have to tell lies to his mormons friends and tell them that i am going to convert mormon but i say NO.
he told YOU HAVE TO BE MORMON OR I DON´T LOVE YOU.
so that very sad i have to come back to my country.
i dont like to tell lies about my religion. i have no problems with another religions. i believe that mormons are very friendly people but in my case it was very different.
now my father tolds that i am not his daughter he doesnt know anything about me.
he has forgotten of me.
he called me GARBAGE because im from spain i doesn´t want to convert to mormon.
but i cant tell lies.
i talked to mormon church and the mormon church didnt do anything

it is not normal that you be called garbage, nobody has the right to call the creation of God who is you a garbage, its not religion that your father must be up to, must be something else, but sad how he behaves shows how he sees God in his life is.

I'm very sorry for you i think your dad has got a little mixed up in what religion is no 1 should every push what to believe on others me personally i don't believe in god but i would never tell my children they shouldn't believe if that's what they want to. And as for your dad calling you garbage is just plain rude if you don't think you can sit down and speak face to face with him write him a letter telling him how your feeling good luck x x

i was raised if you have to lie dont say anything at all/You did the right thing. I know you want youre fathers love but some times fathers only think of them selves.My father dont except me after my mother died. So dont choose youre religion over another just for him be who you are and happy in knowing you done what was right. good luck. im also catholic

I don't agree with your father.
Call anyone of garbage is very sad.
My mother is a Mormon and I'm not. She 'd love if I went to the church but like you I already go to another one... and she must respect it.
Many Mormons came to my house and tried to convert me too, but I don't agree with many things in their religion.
But I respect them...
I think you have to be patient and try to understand your father.

That's terrible. No father should ever say that to his child no matter what. Accept that your father is not well in the head and pray for him. I'm sure that what he says hurts, but understandd that he must be mentally ill to say such things.

dont worry about him any more. it shows that he really cares more about his religion than you... if you dont want to convert then you really dont have to... but anyone who calls their daughter garbage is some of the scum of the earth...(sorry no offense please)
