Dramatic monolouge, a poem in which a single speaker who is not the poet utters the entire poem at a critical moment. The speaker has a listener within the poem, but we too are his/her listener, and we learn about the speaker's character from what the speaker says. In fact, the speaker may reveal unintentionally certain aspects of his/her character. Robert Browning perfected this form. You can take a situation out of a well-known book, find a new twist, and perform it as if you're the character. For example, you could base your monologue on Sleeping Beauty, as the perspective of one of the servants who fell into the 100 year sleep along with her mistress. Or as Rosaline (from Romeo and Juliet), irritated that Romeo has suddenly dumped her for another girl, grumbling that it will 'never last'. If you've ever read a book or saw a play and thought, hang on, this character has an interesting story to tell that's been ignored in the main story (e.g. Tituba in The Crucible, Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream, now's your chance!

Dramatic monologue is a literary work which consists of a revealing one-way conversation by a character or a persona, usually directed to a second person or to an imaginary audience.It typically involves a critical moment of a specific situation, with the speaker's words unintentionally providing a revelation of his character.
EXAMPLE-:
TITHONUS
-Alfred Tennyson
The woods decay, the woods decay and fall,
The vapours weep their burthen to the ground,
Man comes and tills the field and lies beneath,
And after many a summer dies the swan.
Me only cruel immortality
Consumes;
MEANING;
The poem is based on a classical myth of the love of goddess aurora for Tithonus. Tithonus , according to the myth ,was a handsome youth who was carried off by Aurora; he begged her for the gift of immortality. HE was granted but he forgot to ask for immortal youth and hence he grew old and weak.Now he begged Aurora for his release from this gift of immortality and wanted to die.The dramatic monologue was all about his prayer to Aurora describing his pathetic condition.
GOOD LUCK! write your own monologue and dont forget to have a listener in the poem.

It depends whether you've got to pick one from a selection of known authors or make one up yourself. Shakespeare was good at dramatic soliloquy - see Hamlet and Macbeth. Otherwise you could make one up about something in the news - Big Brother, the War on Terror, fox hunting, religious conflict, the death of Saddam Hussein. There's a lot going on out there to get passionate about. Pick something important to you.
I suppose you could also write a monologue about not knowing what to write about in a monologue. You could detail your anguish about not knowing what to say. That should allow you to touch upon lots of subjects without going too deep. Remember, lots of dramatic language, rhetoric and good structure - an intro a middle and a conclusion.
Good luck

Do you mean that you have to write an original monologue that you will then perform? Here are a few ideas: -
Your long-term boy friend has just dumped you (perhaps in a public, humiliating way.) Give us your thoughts.
You have been accused of stealing (or something else) - defend yourself.
You are attracted to a guy who is dating your best friend. You know she really cares about him, but you think he fancies you. What do you do?
You know that a good friend of yours is doing drugs. You know that he/she steals to fund the habit. You are going to be questioned by the police - do you lie to protect your friend or do you tell the truth, hoping that your friend will get help?
BTW I know that this is an informal forum, but you 'write', you don't 'right.' Correct use of English should be part of your monologue. Good Luck.

Just do one on the drama of your life. Or, pick a drama movie you like that someone is doing one and go from there.

It's just as well this is the spoken word, as your written words are flawed.
