Have you tried listening to soothing music or sounds? Also, sometimes listening to a story on tape helps me keep my mind clear so I can sleep. Good luck :)

You have insomnia. If you go and see your doctor, he'll be able to give you something for it. However, you have to take a look at yourself and your life to ty and see what the cause is. Do you take drugs? People who take a lot of 'uppers' can have trouble sleeping, even a while after they last took them. Do you go out late at night some nights and not others? If so, then your body clock is confuced. Do you drink a lot of coffee, tea or fizzy drinks? If so the cafine (and sugar) will be kepping you up. Are you happy at work, or stressed out? If you are not relaxing and are worried then you will not be able to relax into the sleep state. Are you depressed? Again stress, worry and depression can lead to insomnia. Are you overtired before you go to bed? This can prevent sleep (wierd i know!). Try and get a routine before you go to bed. If you want some natural remedies - a glass of warm milk and a bath with lavender oil can really really help (lavander relaxes you). Good luck!

It's possible that you are not relaxing enough before you go to bed. You could try some herbal tablets to help you sleep. These, so far as I am aware, are not addictive unlike those prescribed by a GP. Perhaps you should talk to your GP in the first instance.

Best wishes, J

i have the same problem, from 6-12pm after i got home from work, when i sat infront of the TV, i dozed off to sleep, but when i'm in bed at 12, i'm wide awake, even though i knows that i'm very tired, & woke up the next morning feeling very tired, & felt that i've just lied down, the night's over too soon, one trick works for me after many years of experimenting, i've tried counting, missed a count, & stays awake wondering where i've missed the count, now i just lay down in the most comfortable position, keep telling myself sleep, sleep, Keeps repeating just the same words over & over again, it has an hypnotic effect, & you do not have to worry how many times you repeat,

Make sure you are warm enough in bed, but not overwarm.
If you have stress in your day you might be taking it to bed with you, relaxation tecniques would definitely help

ow... i have the same problem as you.. 1 of my friend told me that before you sleep you should calm your self, because of the stress on your subconscious mind. you thinking about problems and etc. its better to calm your self or make a stress reliever like eat, play computer games or reading books just to relief your self...

i do that before i sleep to relieve my stress...

Or maybe you have an insomnia if you could not sleep...
