A silversmith knows when a piece of silver is refined when he sees his reflection. Similarly, a Christian is refined when you see the Master's reflection in him.

EmeraldSun said it perfectly. And even though we can not be "perfect" in this life, we should try to mirror our Father's reflection as best we can.
Zechariah 13:9 "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, IT IS MY PEOPLE: and they shall say, THE LORD IS MY GOD."

Only when God has finished with them, and then decides they are ready to go home (heaven)
A Christians life on earth is an ongoing process, a work in progress.
This is what sanctification means
A painting that is meant to get better and better, and is only whole, when we are united with God in heaven,,, then and only then is the 'silver refined at its highest level'
Bring it on! but in good time Lord (-: Amen

Yup, one of my favorite passages.
I don't think the process of refinement will ever stop in our lifetime. I think we are held in the fire (as the silversmith holds silver in the fire to purify it) until our dying day. As we walk closer to the Lord, we become more pure, but we will never be completely without sin until the day we die.
God bless!

When you get to heaven you will be as refined as silver. The refineing process uses an extremely hot fire to burn away all impurities - just like purgatory.

You are looking at Prophecy here concening Israel & the Tribe Of Levi. But in the NT there is also scriptures that states that every man shall be tested in fire & come out as fine Gold, But we are not the ones to judge that, Only the indivisual, & God.

That is an ongoing process that will not be finished until we are out of these flesh bodies.
Perfection for now is full age or maturity in His Word.
