After my boyfriend and I have sex I always feel emotionally detached from him, this was never the case with any other men i've been with. We've been together for a while and he lives with me. Normally I feel close to him but after we make love it doesn't feel that way and it makes me sad. Usually we go to sleep afterwards and we cuddle, other times we will do something but always for 5min to an hour i feel so distanced.
I dont know if its from his end or mine..

any ideas why i feel this way or how to fix it?

thanks to the answers so far. something of a response to them :):)

To the second answerer - ha maybe that's it that would be a wonderful reason to feel distanced and unlike my other partners he does satisfy me maybe you're on to something.

third - never thought about that but def possibility

4th - I've pretty much felt this way since he and I first began to be intimate, I told him and he said he doesnt feel it, not further away or closer. so i dont know there

In my opinion, this is a psychological fear of abandonment. Maybe because your other relationship have not worked and you feel like eventually this could happen with him.

Of course, I am just a regular person, but my suggestion would be to speak to a relationship counsler about this.

There's a problem with the feelings between the two of you... It's evident in your own words, "After my boyfriend and I have sex"...
If you and your BF were a true romantically attached couple you would have said, "After my boyfriend and I make love" instead...
That's the reason you are sad... Simply because there aren't real attached feelings and emotions between the two of you... or there aren't enough there to make it a meaningful relationship... Good luck...

try to think back to when it started.what was happening?if you can think of nothing that might have caused you to feel this way then talk to your partner and see if he feels a sense of withdrawel holding it in will not fix it once it is out there maby things will be right in your world once again.best of luck
