Do I have to say a Poem or a chant??

Wicca is a religion, not a fan club. You can't just wake up one morning and say you want to be Wiccan. You have to research and learn about it, then decide if you believe in it's principles.
Despite what some will say, you don't have to join a coven to be Wiccan, as long as you hold true to the beliefs.

Wicca is a religion. I would like to suggest a book called "Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft" to find out what path is best for you. It will explain the differences in some of the denominations. Wiccans (big "W") are generally part of a coven, where as wiccans (small "w") can be part of a coven or can be solitary. I prefer the solitary lifestyle because I like doing things my way. A good book for that is Scott Cunningham's "Wicca: a Guide for the Solitary Practitioner.". Chanting & poetry come later!

learn about the religion. Mabey find a coven in your area. If you have Wiccan beleifs, then you are a Wiccan. Mabey your question is how do I join a coven?

"Join" Wicca? It's not something you join...you either are or you aren't.

Dress up in a black cloak and wear a tall black hat and say I seek refuge in the power of Wicca. Then grab a broom from behind the kitchen door, close your eyes and jump off the roof.
I dont think its something you join its something you embrace.
