Or do they all hammer their one-sided, hypocritical, twisted view of the world while they hold their hands out for your money?

The closest one to that is the Universal Unitarians. Also, check out Ethical Unions for a secular version of church. They strongly promote thought, discussion, and debate.

Yep, there are a few.

Few that study God's Word.
Few that teach each person is responsible.
Responsible to check out what any person says.
Responsible to study God's Word and document for yourself.

The hour is late, time to get crackin.

I suppose if you want to group all churches together then no. I am United Methodist and we do promote thought, discussion and debate. As far as giving money to my church they don't beg me for it I give it freely because I want to support the church and it's work.

I am a Christian Pastor and I always have encouraged intelligent discourse as the best method of learning.
And just for the record;
On my web-site there is not a donate button for a reason.
Freely it was given and freely I give.

My son's church of Christ does not believe in tithing you give what you want and can.They actually help their congregation.A wealthy church member in another state gave him 10,000 dollars to pay off his car because he liked his message and knew he was in financial distress.Now those are true Christan's.They follow the teachings of the new testament church of Christ.They believe the church is the body of Christ and the church is just...well..............a building

Try the Unitarian-Universalist. Might be what you are looking for. But there is no dogma. If you are looking for dogma, well there's plenty of it around hand in hand with superstition and fanaticism.

Yes, they do promote it. But it's called christian habitual thinking. Think nothing but that you and other Christians are saved. Others are going to rot in hell.
