The Bible says "turn the other cheek" in one spot and "an eye for an eye" in another spot. So, it's not much of a guide here.
You have to figure out the situation for yourself. You have a brain. Use it.
Is this someone who you depend on, like a boss? It might be that you have to just suck it in and take it, if your livlihood depends on it. Is this a loved one or close friend? Then you probably have to deal with the underlying reasons for this abuse and figure out how to make amends. Is this just some random guy on the street? Then either confront him or get out of the situation. There are many solutions for many situations. You have to actually think about the issues yourself, instead of just looking up phrases in an old book hoping to find a magic answer.

Avoid people that make that evil anger spirit in you come out until you can handle it without thinking like them. This is the best course of action until you mature. Many people do not understand you can be an evil Christian also, cussing and swearing, hating, envy, anger, and lust are all spirits that you must over come to not be a bad witness to others. So until you can over come alone it would be best that you get around a better crowd of people.

i might want to ignore her. She is self-righteous and stirring up branch between brethren. it is a case the position you are able to certainly ask your self "What might want to Jesus do?" there are quite some scriptures that allow you already know. listed the following are some: do no longer go back evil for evil. turn the different cheek. God hates causing branch between brethren. you'd be forgiven as you forgive others. human beings act in rude and unkind options for a variety of causes. You not in any respect understand what has surpassed off to this lady to make her the way she is. She has likely been dealt with with hatred and dismiss type others. At any fee, the way you cope such as her received't say something about her, quite it is going to say lots about the intensity of your personality. :-))

Treating non believers like a sack of sh!t is being a biblical christian.
Its logically conclusive given the doctrines taught in the bible
"Your good works are like dung to him"
"If they dont receive the gospel, shake their dust of and yell at them 'It would be more tolerable for soddom and Gomorrah than you in the day of judgment" (hows that for sour grapes)
"They are like dogs returning to their vomit"
"Dont give what is holy to dogs"
"The smoke of their torment will go up for ever and ever"
"the Fool says in his heart there is no God, they are evil and everything about them is dog sh!t"
"An evil and adulteress generation seeks after a sign"
I am paraphrasing
However I must agree, there is a good jesus in the bible somewhere. And many of the 'truths' in the bible are mutually exclusive.

By understanding that it is nothing personal, it is their issue how they react not mine (well sometimes it might be mine) & prayer. Jesus went through abuse & still He cleansed us all of our sins. If we truely believe He is God, we need to learn to respect Him for all He has done, & do what He asks of us. The only way to learn to turn the other cheek is to do it. If I fail I pick myself up ask for forgiveness from God & the person I have reacted to & start again.

They choose to act in a manner which is not pleasing to God,,,I will not act like them in turn I will show love to them..I have people who really don't like me but does that mean I have to hate them,,No..I have many faults and to say one person is better than another would be wrong of me to say...They make the decision to act in any manner they want too,,it will only hurt them in the long run...When I keep forgivness in my heart and love I can sleep at night and know I am not hurting them....

Every body has the right to self defense. To turn the other cheek suggests an attitude; You could skip the "french" for example. It means we should be ready to forgive.Jesus was struck on the cheek ;He protested about it.

i ask myself the same question, i used to be very aggressive myself and would really reply to rude people and i suppose end up being rude myself. but now that i became a christian i try to avoid that kind of people as well. i mean, it's hard to avoid them, but if they come being rude to me, or bullying me (i'm talking about school-my last year :D) i just try to ignore, it's very hard but i've managed to be successful a couple of times. sometimes i just can't take it and i explode but i keep trying.. if you think about it it's rather controversial as the bible also says "eye for eye and teeth for teeth". i suppose they mean different situations.

Nice rant. Everybody's being passive-aggressive tonight, aren't they?
You could improve your walk by cleaning up your mouth to begin with, God bless.
Exactly what is self-righteous about the above statements? We're all sinners, she asked how she could improve her walk and live a better life, I answered her.

In the Bible Jesus also said that we will be hated because of his name. Get use to it. I sometimes get treated the same way when I witness.
