Okay most of these people are ******** stupid. I have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years and I have known him for 7 and guess what? HE'S MY FIANCE. So screw all you people that don't think long distance relationships can work. It's not all about sex you creeps. Have you ever thought that maybe the divorce rate is so high because people ***** each other before getting to know one another and marry after 3 months of seeing each other? I know my fiance better than any one of his closest friends. And I plan on moving to be with him this fall. And he live 4 THOUSAND miles away from me. God you people make me sick. If the question asker wants to chat with me, feel free to IM me and I'll give you real advice.

My fiance & I started dating when I was home from college for spring break, so most of our first year together was long-distance (2 hours apart & neither of us had a drivers' license) It wasn't always easy being that far apart, but we talked on the phone & IM alot and saw each other whenever we could. Just make sure you both are honest & can trust each other... that's prolly the most important thing in a long-distance relationship. Good luck!!

PS. And don't believe that all guys need sex constantly to be happy, cuz I'm the only chick mine has ever slept with. We were completely monogamous the whole time & happy with it.

The only way a long distance relationship can work is if BOTH people have extremely similar family/relationship values, both have integrity, and both are honest with each other and with themselves.

You have a very low chance that you'll be lucky enough to find such a person in a long distance relationship.

It's not impossible, but it's very difficult.

I'd strongly suggest one of the following:
- one of you move closer to the other, or
- expect a lot of feelings of distrust, heartache, temptation to "play around", etc., or
- break off the relationship now and find someone local

As a mature, older person, who has had relationship experience, including a successful long distance relationship, I will be happy to help if I can. You can contact me through my 360 page.

My husband and I met online over 5 years ago, we lived in different countries, same continent, 1700 miles apart, and it took us four years to be able to live together fulltime.

i agree with some of the people here. long distance relationship is really really very difficult.and most of the times, it usually ends in a sad note.i'm one of the victims of that.i left my girlfriend back home.she was the one who found somebody but they didn't last.just recently, she found another and she said that she thinks she'd like to give that a try.why does it have to be when we were already planning for our future? 6 years and it all ended to nothing.
