in my opinion the race for you is bulldog. Maybe you've got the same face.

I agree with the shelter answer. They often have puppies or even dogs that are already well tempered and partialy trained. Sometimes they are recovering from a owner that abused them but they will be grateful of a good meal, play time and a warm place to sleep. Not that any other dog wouldn't, but these are dogs that need a home, and may very well be killed if someone doesn't take them.

If that still isn't your thing then I have a husky/german sheperd mix. Its mostly husky so I think its behaviors come more from that. But anyway it was the easiest dog to train hands down. Picked up on everything quickly. And his personality is somthing else. He is really good at telling you exactly what he wants/needs and he'll follow your commands even if he expresses he doesn't want to.

I'm very sorry about your loss. You should go to a pound, an animal shelter. They have all kinds of mixed breeds there, all really needing homes, and all sorts of personalities. Large, Small and everything in between, go to the Internet and look up animal shelters in your area, you'll see what I mean. Good Luck in your search. Again, I'm sorry abour your dog.

I've always had good luck with Golden Retrievers. They are very sweet dogs and very friendly. However, if you're into small dogs I can't help you much there. I never cared for small dogs except Cocker Spaniels. German Shephards aren't too bad either. I wouldn't get a labrador, they are very hyper. They have a puppy mind all the time and love to jump.

Stop right there. If your dog has just passed you should not be considering a replacement for at least 6 months. If you don't wait the new dog will suffer because you will be constantly comparing the old to the new... Oh and sorry about your loss :-(

It all depends on what type of lifestyle you have, and whether you want a small, medium or large breed. If you can provide more details, we can give you better answers. I'm really sorry about your dog!!!

Breed...not race...LOL! I thought you were trying to buy foreign children or something. Anyway, I always like the mellower breeds, so I pick collies or shelties. I do have a sheltie/shephard mix that is quite tame!
