food preservation is an approach in order to solve most food issues.

it prevents undesirable changes in food quality through economical methods that will control growth of microorganisms, physical and physiological changes and deter contamination. if these are not prevented, spoilage of food may occur faster.

some food preservations are done chemically (addition of sugar, salt, acids, and other chemicals), biological (peventing growth of spoilage microbes & fermentation), and physical (refrigeration, and by subjecting the food to heat.)
