I agree with the first few posts. Also, believe it or not my Aunt's pediatrician suggested letting all the fiz out of pepsi or coke by letting it sit in a sippy cup. Then, giving the warm pop to the child. It is suppose to help settle upset stomachs. Also, soda crackers are good for upset stomachs (saltless)

If he's still vomiting. you want to give small amounts of clear fluids frequently. Give him either a teaspoon or eyedropper full of pedialyte or flat gingerale or flat coca-cola every ten minutes.
Once he goes four to six hours without vomiting, increase the amount.
When there's been about eight to twelve hours since he last vomited, add back some bland solids. Crackers, toast, pretzels, noodles, mashed potatoes, bananas, rice, or applesauce - anything starchy and carb-loaded.
Stay away from apple juice and white grape juice - they can make diarrhea worse. Citrus juices like orange or grapefruit can be rough on an upset or empty stomach. Milk can be hard to digest too.
Also - encourage your son to nap as much as possible - sleep empties the stomach and eases the need to vomit. Stay away from things like immodium or pepto - they can make belly pains worse and make the virus last longer.

Weak tea with little sugar... and toast, applesauce.....and baked potato with nothing on it.. and .steamed rice.
Stay away from all spices and anything greasy.
My family doctor suggested these things many years ago and it was easy on my digestive system while getting over the virus.
When it comes to toddlers you are best to call a doctor's office they can tell you what is best for them. Their systems need special loving care. I'd hate to say something that would not be in your child's best interest. You are right in keeping the fluids going down.
I hope this is short lived and your child gets well very quick!

the B.R.A.T diet
Bananas ,white rice,applesauce and toast.
Chicken broth is also good but if he has the stomach virus hes not going to hold much down. The most important thing is to keep him hydrated.

In austrialia we use a product called "gastrolite" It replaces goodies lost by the body via vomiting and diarreah. I personally wouldent worry if he /she wont eat, and if so go easy like ...grated apple/ jellys/ lay off the milk, it will curdle in his stomach. take him to the dr if he is no better in 24hrs. hope he feels better soon!!

clear liquids - like chicken broth, ginger ale, jello. Start to add dry toast and see if he can keep that down. I think oatmeal would be too heavy on his stomach. A poached egg and toast is better choice.
