I'm sorry, but having lots of books printed has no bearing on how many actually belong to the faith. Tell me, did Wikipedia tell how many of those were children's bibles? or those with the New Testament and psalms that are given out as candy at halloween? Does it say exactly how many of those printed Bibles are actually read? Did it say how many are owned by Christians?
Did the article describe what exactly constitutes a Bible? Does it count the Jewish Old testament alone? How about the Egyptian Orthodox? Catholic as well as protestant? For the protestants who like to dismiss the Catholic faith as less than Christian, isn't a bit disingenuous to include that book, or the number of Catholics as part of the Christian faith?
I'm a Pagan, and I've got 4 sitting on my bookshelf right now, and some more in storage. I wonder how many Christians have more than one? A number of printed books has no bearing whatsoever on how many adherents there are to a faith, or how fast it is growing.
Look out folks.. us Pagans don't have a Bible, but we're growing really fast.

Book #2 is quotations of chairman mao. I think that'll tell you how valuable something can be based on its sales. The only reason the bible sells so much is because the catholic church prints thousands of copies to give out for free, and the same with other protestant churches. Heck, even I as an Atheist own a Bible, Torah, Qur'an, and a book of Mormon.

The Holy Bible has always been number one on the New York Times bestseller list, so much so that NYT had it removed. What is listed now as "number one" is actually the second best seller.
However, arguably, I have still seen many polls and statistics that say Islam is the fastest growing religion. Islam tends to keep it's masses quite ignorant, to include ignorance of his/her own religious texts, such that one could never read the Koran and still consider themselves Muslim.
You also have to take into account that we (Christians) can afford to buy a Bible, or several (we own about a dozen versions) and the followers of Islam oftentimes do not have the money, the option, or the literacy to obtain and/or read a copy of their Koran.
