My surname is Hallion. My fathers name is Graham Hallion. His mother and father were Joyce and Matthew Hallion. Graham was married to a woman and they had 3 sons which would be my half brothers. I only know one of their names. Christopher. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Another great resource is the geneology department in your local public library. Most major citys have one, if you have a date you can search microfish for birth notices. You may be able to get a date from a marriage certificate of ic any children came from the marriage. As a direct decendant or (if alive) your father should be able to get a copy from births deaths and marriages. Wish i knew what state you were in :D

Normally you can meet up with other people who show you some of the tricks of the trade as do some of the librarians... Unfortunatley you cannot get information from sites and databases like ancestory.com until the person has been deceased for over 10 years.

Another place you can try is the electrol roll. If Chris has tahen the same last name it should be easy to locate him on this (if over 18) thru the office of your local member or again your library... this doesn't have to be local it can cover all of australia.

Lastley if you can confirm a surname... you can always ask the local police / centrelink/ human services department to do a search and if they locate him to leave him with your contact details should he ever wish to establish contact.

The Salvation army reconnect (family tracing)line is also great with trying to locate family members, in your situation they may be able to provide you with some limited support.

Hope this helps or at least gives you some avenues to explore...

Good luck Kat.
