I really want to get fit ready for school in a couple of weeks. I've never been very fit because i use to be a fat kid but I've lost the weight but i want to get fit. I've tried to go running with friends but i can't last long.. or when i try to do push ups i find them just too hard. Crunches aren't too bad but i still struggle. Any ideas to get me started where i can improve over time? Thanks..

First of all, I do NOT agree with the individual who told you to stop being lazy. You should be proud of the weight you loss. And you have already put your body through a lot by loosing the weight. Going full steam could cause injury or even long term damage. Therefore, you should take a very moderate exercise.

For example instead of trying to run. How about a two mile walk. A slow steady walk. When you are don walking then do five push ups and ten crunches. Do this four times a week for two weeks. Then on the end of week two time yourself walking the two miles. Starting week three try to decrease the time it takes you to walk by one minute, and add two more push ups and two more crunches to your work out. Do this for about a month. Then repeat evey month there after. But before you start this or any other physical regiment you should talk to you family doctor.

Too many people try too hard to exercise quickly.

Do a ten minute walk.
The next time, do a 5 minute walk, a 1 minute jog, then a 5 minute walk.
The next time, do a 5 minute walk, a 2 minute jog, then a 5 minute walk.

Slowly increase your jog time. Even as an adult, if I haven't exercised for some time, I can't just dive into it. Take it easy, but within two weeks you'll be running 15 minutes. Go until you have a 5 minute walk (warm-up), a 20 to 25 minute run, and another 5-minutes to cool down.

Do it quickly like you are and yes, you'll burn out after 2 mins.

well, i think you should carry on the push ups even though you struggle a bit but you will only feel hard at first but once you do on a regular basis you will get a hang of it and you wont realise that in no time you have shaped yourself back and look fit as before. you might want to cut on fatty foods on the side of doing exercising because that will help you reduce quickly doing only one thing that is doing only exercising might take a long time althought it will help but along with that if you cut down on fatty foods it will really help you and try not to sleep so much as well because while your sleeping the sugar is being added to your blood and increases its magnitute in the blood the more you sleep. all in one word just try to stay health mentally and physically. active is the word for you. stay active.

WALK my friend walk ! Begin with walking at a normal pace. Then slowly, after 2-3 days increase the pace of your walking.Brisk walking over long distances for two weeks will increase your stamina to a great extent.Brisk walk for half an hour everyday & see the difference. Also ride a bike if you have one.

If your workout is not challenging, then there is something wrong. It is supposed to be hard. Now, as far as running and building up to a normal run........you need to run,or sprint fast for 1 min. then, jog slowly for 1 min. just go back and forth with this for a while. Also, do girl push-ups from your knees if you can't do a traditional pushup.

Just get started. You tire quickly because you've not built up muscles to replace the fat you lost. Eat well and excersize regularly and you'll find you have more energy as you get stronger, and tire more slowly .. and get the right amount of sleep.

you need to slowly build your body up to a stage where you feel great, its something that will take time, just start by going for a 15 min walk and then a 30 walk and then slowly start to run, go for a swim, skip etc. You need to push yourself

First thing to be done is avoid overeating or eating without hunger.
Second thing is to avoid fatty, spicy, stale and carbohydrate foods - biscuits, bakery foods, etc.
Third thing is your decision and efforts. You will have to try hard to be fit otherwise life will be charmless, you can't enjoy it. Start with walking and then slowly increase the intensity and time.

set a goal for yourself with the push ups and situps, and keep trying to hit that goal. when you do make it, then push your goal even further.

run around the track to see how far you get without gettting tired then you can try to run again and get further. just keep practicing it just takes time man.
