People have different ways of dealing with loss. This applies to kids too, and they haven't had time to develop adult defense mechanisms.
Let her deal with it in her own way, for as long as it takes.

It's not your little niece that need to wake up to reality, it is you and your narrow-minded brother! What purpose does it serve her to make this up? It is not normal, it is paranormal! I have a 4 year old daughter and they do not lie to that degree, they live in the here and now. You need to accept that what you believe and perceive to be the truth is perhaps a fabrication. Where would she know these things she is talking about if she didn't learn them from LOLO? I've heard of other stories (from my sister-in-law) where deceased relatives' souls have frequently appeared to younger children within the extended family. In fact my nieces describe someone whom could only be my Grandfather, and it sort of makes me jealous. However if he appeared to me I would probably freak out whereas they just chat to him.
There's a reason why they appear to children, the untapped with receptors. Hmm, I wonder why? Perhaps because the response from a more mature, sensible member of the family would probably be met with a "get behind me Satan" kind of attitude.

I believe that children are so much more in tune with the spiritual world than adults are. I know of many instances where children have seen into the spirit world when those around them saw nothing. I don't call it a ghost.... I think they are angels. Seems VERY accurate...the things she's saying, to not have some element of truth to it. Also, I don't agree that she should be punished for it. You mentioned that you've asked your brother why he lets her act like this. Well, it's not like she got into the liquor cabinet or smoked his last marlboro. I don't think it's grounds for punishment by any means. Hope this helps!!
p.s. to the last ent wife.......I hope you don't have kids! Poor babies!!
p.p.s. anytime you have to ask yourself what's wrong with the world, it's time to do some serious self evaluation. Usually it's not the whole world that is wrong...... it's you.

Lol....sorry to bust your bubble, there is Ghost, spirits and angels.
I still see them now and then, I started seeing them when I was four, my son started about two. It'ssss true. if you were open to it, you just may see them, I had some very close encounters.
Ask her some questions, What color are they, do they glow.... ghost are usually grayish in color, spirits and angels are completely white, or whitish, and Glow. But some people do see them in different stages, The ones I always seen were like shadows or like a plain ghost without detail. Ghost are either stuck on earth or on their way to heaven or else where. Spirits are from heaven if they glow, but like I said they do come in some different stages for different people.
If they aren't doing harm, nothing to worry about.

why are you blaming child for seeing things you don't see?
for instance everyone has different range of sense light spectrum, it means that might not see colors that sees your friend or someone else but you don't blame them. everyone heres music, but musician
can here noise that you will not hear, so you aren't saying that he is crazy an probably you aren't telling him to visit doctor...
I can see sometimes dreams that come true, I've seen my fathers death 6 month before it happened so what am i crazy? I wrote it down when i so it first, so if you'll try to argue that I'm crazy you can expertize my hand writings and thing that happened :)
calm down, it not that bad, probably you niece has her guardian angel beside her. and i don't think it is bad at all...

Don't tell her anything She likely does see her Grandaddy. I started seeing my Grandaddy when I was five years old shortly after he died. We still talk to each other often. Leave the child in peace if you try to make her think she descent see him it may cause him to leave and that would be a tragedy. My Grandaddy has been a great comfort to me through the years. She is seeing his spirit & indeed communicating with him.
Children are close to the source & have no fear of these things unless they are told to fear them.
There is nothing harmful in this & there is absolutely nothing wrong with her. It would harm her more if you took her to a Dr & he said she was mental problems.
Leave the child be.

It is not your place to tell her. Your beliefs are irrelevant. It is her parents choice on how to raise their daughter.
"because there are no such things as ghost."
How do you know? Maybe your wrong.
"should i tell him to bring her to the doctors?"
They may tell you to mind your own business.

Voodoid is right, so is your brother. Your Niece isn't old enough to process the reality of death. She is dealing with it her own way. A very common way for children to do it I might add. The WORST thing you can do is make a big deal out of it. Leave the child to grieve her own way.

Well, maybe she really is communicating with her Grandpa. And even if she's not, it may just be her way of coping with his death. Your brother is right, just relax. She's only four years old, and it doesn't matter that he passed away when she was one. Little kids can still remember someone who they had a emotional bond with.
