i like this girl at school, i've never talked to her before, and i want to make a good first impressoin.
would i be better if i said....

All women are different and you might not know the mood she is in, or her life. So I would avoid in saying something funny the first time cause you do not know if her friend just died. I would not say nothing sweet because you do not know what type of man she likes and you could come out sounding gay to her if she likes rugged men. I would never suggest you say something stupid, because she will not like you.. I would not say something intelligent because although most women like men that are intelligent some do not, and since you do not know the woman much I would avoid that, she might think you are a geek. I would not suggest telling her something she does not know because you might make her feel dumb and there goes your date.
I do suggest #1 A compliment. Because all types of women, including nice, mean, crazy, all women would appreciate a genuine compliment. A compliment is always welcomed. Such as you are doing good. You seem to be holding yourself good today. but the compliment I would suggest you give her for your first time, is something about her. So, look at her, and hear her out and see what she does good and give her, her compliment.
