Hi Jenna, A new be,That's great. I have 5 tats myself. Once you get you first, and second tat, you will want more. The thing to remember is where are you going to place your tats.I don't like tats on my arms or leggs. I have 2 tats on the backside of my shoulder blades. I have another not quite in the middle of my spine. I have another 1 just below my panty line. My master piece, and my last tat is on my lower back,it is awesome. Try to pick something that fit's your personality. You tat's should tell a story about you. If you can't find a tat that fit's you, talk to the tat artist, and tell him what you have in mind. He will draw something up to suit you. Welcome to the world of tattoos. You will love them. A Friend.

consume what you like. The soreness sensation is own. No 2 human beings have the comparable soreness threshold. the place you're being tattooed will for sure make a distinction to the soreness. don't have self belief absolutely everyone who proclaims it is extra painful close to to a bone. I even have an ankle tattoo and did no longer experience it (around the bone). I had a tattoo on my buttock cheek (nowhere close to a bone and it harm). maximum tattoo artists won't do the interest in the event that they think of which you're below the impact of drink or drugs.

THE most important thing i can tell you is to research your artist. DO NOT just go to a random shop and get some random person to do your tattoo. how do you know that they are talented? how do you know if they have ever even tattooed anybody before? you don't unless you look at a portfolio. if an artists portfolio doesn't completely impress you to the point of amazement then you should go somewhere else. the day of your tattoo should not be the first time you visit a shop. you should go in beforehand and check out artists and talk about things.
also i don't know what you are planning on getting but i think you should think about not getting flash (the pictures on the wall) because hundreds, maybe thousands of other people all over the country will have the SAME exact tattoo and who wants that?
good luck!

Everyone has some pretty good advice, so i'm gonna narrow it down for u. First of all, make sure that your artist is clean, and professional. Ask him if he has a book of tatoos that he's done personally. If he is any good he will have one, showcasing his work.
Second, after your tat is done wash it with DIAL anti-bacterial soap. I like Dial (gold bar) personally for my tats. Usually about 3 times a day, or everytime it itches. Dial helps dry and heal faster to me. Do not scratch or peel the scabs, this will mess up your tattoo. Smacking it will help the itching sensation without messing up your tattoo.
Thirdly, do stay out of the sun, the ink and stuff will run and mess up a bunch of clothes. Keep it pretty moist the first few days, as it dry use less and less of A&D or neosporin. I have heard that A&D ointment helps retain the color better than Neosporin. But i have always used neosporin and my tatts are still colorful, 10 years later. AND.. most important.. If u do use neosporin, Do NOT use the kind with pain whateveritis.. i dont remember, but regular neosporin or the rite-aid brand is good. Good Luck.

Here's a tip that nobody will give you--don't let your wieght change by more than five pounds. Any more and you're guaranteed to get or lose enough fatty tissue in the area around the tattoo that it's shape will change. Gain 20 pounds and it's going to be pretty warped, and more than 35 will pull it out of shape to the point where it isn't recognizable. And halve those numbers if you're losing weight.

I have had my tattoos designed by my best friends...it's a nice reminder of their friendship, and the ones who I have chosen to design are still really close (or , the ones I've chosen to be really close have designed)

Just relax, and be sure you're making the right decision.
From personal experience, mine didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought they would.
