I have naturally wavyish, thick hair but I straighten it everyday. I have wanted to try to change my hairstyles up a bit by trying to do loose curls in my hair but it never seems to look really good. So does anyone know a good way to do them?

Sleep in curlers.

SuzieQ is right. I applied hair gel that has medium hold - avoid the strong ones they'll make your hair look like a wig. You should also look for high moisturizing content in a gel so your curl wont fall out. Mousse doesnt really work on me cos my hair is thick plus wavy and doesnt really hold that well (and long enough). Another thing you can do is to get a permanent perm at the salon so it'll make your hair more manageable. I started doing it once a year (since 2005) with regular trims every 2-3 months. My curl usually lasts all day given the routine. Hope it suits you too, best of luck! :)

Mine is exactly how you described yours...and I get tired of straightening it daily too and sometimes want a sexier, body wave, type look. When its wet....I take mousse and gel and "scrunch" up my whole head upside down. Then I take my blowdryer, preferably with a diffuser, and finish the scrunching up process as I'm drying it. This is a process too unfortunately, but the result is a full, wavy, sexy look. You can add more mousse or gel depending on how krinkly or wet you want it to look. :) Good Luck!
