The law regarding personal weapon in Israel is pretty stirct.

While every Israeli soldier gets to hold a weapon from security matters, not many civilans are authorized to do so and the number of licensees is very small, compared to other countries such as Australia, UK and the USA.
The gun politics of Israel does not view holding firearm as a constitutional right, and the policy of licensing is tough.

There are 7,100,000 people approximately in Israel.
The formal estimatations of August 2006 regarding gun politics say that:
197,181 people are licensed to use personal weapon.
126,700 of the licensees are authorized to use it at work (security companies and such).

If you wish to have a licence, apply to the Israeli Ministry of Interior (http://www.moin.gov.il/).

yotg got it right, but for some "unknown" reason you people gave him 3 negative ratings. Did he attack muslims in his post? I didn't see it. But just the fact that he calls himself an Israeli, and is not ashamed, but in fact, is proud of it, he gets bad ratings.
