their night vision is not as good as a cat's, but much better than human's.

Dogs have much better night vision for 2 reasons:

* They have more rods (which enable night vision).
* They have a structure called the Tapetum Lucidum
This is a reflective surface behind the retina (area including the light sensitive cells) that reflects light back through it (gives the eerie shine at night).

yes and no, cat's better for that, dog will use its EARS.NOSE for the most accurate pinpointing of objects, to supplement their lesser nightvision, my dog, can find a green ball on the lawn thrown in pitch dark, it got excellent nightvision, & radarears

Yes and dogs aren't really color blind they see the same as we do at twilight.

dogs actually see better at night. they were born with that instinct, it goes back to packs like of wovles.
