How about joining a gym..
getting a hobby...(like photography classes)
joining a book club...
volunteering at a local organization.. (human society/food bank)
Just a few thoughts. Maybe through one of these you could meet another person who have common interests.

the beach, bookstores, cooking classes, camps, craft or hobby classes theres millions of places to meet people aside from bars and church. Pick something you like to do so you have a better chance of meeting someone with a common interest to help start the conversation off :-)

I met my honey on yahoo personals!! REALLY... not just a plug for them. About a year ago, I answered his ad. It took him a month to respond back. After 2 weeks of chatting online, we met F2F. It didn't work out at first but after chatting for awhile off and on, we became good friends. We started dating around Thanksgiving and by Christmas Eve, I had an engagement ring on my finger. We just knew we were meant to be together. We will be getting married May 19th!!!
Online dating works!! So many people are getting together through them.
Besides Yahoo Personals, I also tried OKCUPID.com (their FREE!!) I tried eHarmony, but thought they were a rip off.
Good luck..... when it's meant to be...it will happen.

Join a gym, take a class, learn a new hobby/sport, volunteer purchase a dog and walk it where women walk their dogs. Strike up a conversation with someone in a grocery store or laundromat (grocery store...picking out produce/wine/cheese ask her about what wine woudl go with which cheese. Laundromat..."Ummmm I'm not sure should I put my red cowboy shirt in with my "tidy whities" on hot?") or somethign like that...go for the "pity" factor.

Barnes and Nobel. Starbucks..what are you looking for? A smarty? A party girl? I'm guessing a reasonably intelligent person. Go to a place where your type might be. A bike shop?

well what do you do?
play sport, watch movies, you must do something ?
you could go on line to a dating site (there are millions of them) and start by talking to girls just on msn.
If you dont like that you need to ask your friends if they know single girls who may be suited to you
the best idea is throw a party invite all your friends and tell each friend to bring a single girl with them or their girlfriends/wives friends who may be single meet in an informal surrounding at your own place and you will be secure and relaxed.Good luck

Girls are all around you no need to go looking. What you have to do is recondtion your mind to talking to them in that way outside of social settings. You might even be more sucessful because you ask them when their guard is low. Kind of like a sneak attack.

first off if i was a guy, i wouldn't go to a bar to find a girl. most girls who go there are trashy. your better off trying to find a sweetie over the Internet that has the same interests as you do. lots of people are doing it these days... its better to give it a try then not trying at all right? you never know.
