If you mean traveling from England to another European country, (not Scotland or Wales), and you want to do it all in one train ride without transferring, the best suggestion is to take the Eurostar "Chunnel" train that uses the tunnel under the English Channel from London to Paris, France or Brussells, Belgium. From there, you can transfer to other trains to take you throughout the entire European rail network to all of the rest of the European countries.
The fastest and most convenient (and possibly cheapest) way to cross the English Channel is by Eurostar Train through the "Chunnel". You can travel between downtown London to downtown Paris or between London and Brussels in 2:40 hours by speed train--eliminating the hour + airport advance check-ins, luggage carousels, and airport-to-city taxi-bus hassles and expense.
You can also use Eurostar Chunnel train between London and Calais, France or between Paris and Ashford England in even less time.

Why take a train? In the UK there is a budget airline called Ryan Air that will be cheaper than any train ticket you can get. They operate out of all London's small airports. Trust me flying with them would open up all of europe at a much better price than EURORAIL or whatever. But they are correct rail in the UK is outrageous!
If you must travel rail France is on the other side of the Chunnel. But really France so done and so exspensive. There is a big world out there and I let myself get hungup visiting overtraveled and overpriced places (UK and france are these).

England is an island which isolates from the rest of other European countries. I would recommand you to take a flight; but if you are going to take train, I highly suggest you to go to Paris (undersea tunnel).

You can take a Eurostar train from Ashford in Kent or London direct to Paris in France or Brussels in Belgium. From there you can take a train to just about anywhere in Europe (if you've got the time and the money).
In France there are TGV (high-speed) trains that run from Paris to anywhere in the country.
From Brussels you can get high-speed trains to Amsterdam and Cologne...
Take your pick.

France is accessable via rail from England.
In 1994 the Channel Tunnel (Chunnel) opened, which gave rail access to and from England and the rest of Europe.

The only other access able country's from England by train are Wales and Scotland....the rest of Europe is accessible by boat.
Try and win the lottery tho, trains in the UK are very expensive.

take the tunnel under water to europe by train. from there you can go anywhere. you see france and belgium first. then you can travel where ever you want.
