I am so fed up hearing people say "We are all immigrants, so let the illegals stay"

I am a very open person. I want to make it easier and more affordable to get people here LEGALLY. But turning our heads while millions live here illegally isn't helping anyone but the wealthy. Most people that are here illegally, don't have health insurance. Who do you think picks up the tab? Tax payers! We pay billions for them! They are here illegally, they're not paying taxes. When they can't pay hospital bills, the hospitals are forced to charge everyone more.

Employers will give illegals jobs and pay them peanuts. Some Americans wouldn't do the work, I get that. But many just won't do the work for that low pay. When they cleared out the illegals in the packing plant down in Georgia (I believe) citizens went right in to work but only after negotiating a FAIR wage.

Let immigrants work, pay taxes, have health insurance and get equal protection!

What sickens me, is that the wealthy people running the government try to pit us (working class) against the illegals.

The only way to protect the working class and immigrants is to make sure that everyone is here legally, paying proper taxes, has access to all of our health care and education and most of all, keep the living wages FAIR. Stop letting employers and politicians take advantage of the working class people in this country, no matter who they are!

GQsmooth,

You missed my point. I want to help hard working "illegals" be here legally so they are protected by our laws but also so they are able to have proper health care and pay taxes. I feel that they are being taken advantage of by politicians and employers. I think ALL working class people in this country are being taken advantage of. If someone wants to live here and work for it, then let's have them here legally so they are being protected equally under our laws.

My husband is a legal immigrant from the UK. I have seen first hand what a joke the INS is. Most illegal immigrants can't afford to file their paper work.

I believe we should set up a system where employers can hire and file the paperwork for their (Mexican) employees. But rather than making the immigrant pay several hundred dollars up front, they should get a temporary VISA. The company/employer that is bringing them into the country should "sponsor" them. Let the fees be paid after the immigrant is here and earning income, rather than paying up front. Many illegals would probably be very willing to file all the paperwork if they could pay for the visa say....90 days after entering the country. Since they would be here legally, they would have access to high enough wages that they could AFFORD the visa at that point, they would be legal and accounted for...paying taxes and protected by our laws. Employers would be forced to keep living wages up as well.

i am sick of people saying illegals are ripping them off by using government help like welfare checks when they dont apply for stuff like that because they are ILLEGAL hello?.... I have an illegal friend and i wont report him he works hard for his money he doesnt take handouts like some people say they do. He doesnt go out, out of fear of being caught. He doesnt see his family because if he tried to he will be caught. He is unhappy here but he has to work to make his family's lives easier.

I don't blame you for not wanting him here i hear you its illegal but come on they arent doing anything like ripping you off. If they get hurt they refuse to go to the hospital. I believe we need to help them instead of throwing them out.

oh btw!...if you are in the middle class you are more than likely collecting tax income instead of paying.

sorry I have been answering questions on illegal immigrants left and right and i got frustrated with alot of them sorry i didnt really pay attention to what you were saying i just assumed you were one of the flamers. I appologize and i agree with you.

I understand the points that you are making - just that I don't agree with them.

People keep saying that there are jobs that Americans won't do thus the 'need' for illegals. Did everyone miss when the meat packing company had the raid and all the legal citizens were seeking those jobs? Did you know that there is a whole show on tv that is dedicated to 'Dirty Jobs" that someone is doing?

Your right on the point of them paying "peanuts" to illegals. Because they get by with this, it drives down the wages for everyone within this country. A simple look at benefits and comparison of wages to the rate of inflation will prove that.

So just how is it that illegals is a benefit to this country? The only benefit that I see is to corporations that pay the wages that they are lowering while they raise CEO paychecks.

THE SANCTUARY STATE--that if you can sneak into America, the Angeleno's will keep illegal immigrants afloat with all the welfare they can collect? It 's not a joke to realize that since Proposition 187 that was derailed--never meant to be decided in the Supreme court , illegal aliens have been able take from legal people $$billions$$ in social services, thanks to the mainly Liberal Sacramento Assembly. Then their is Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) is available to illegal immigrants even if they do not have a valid Social Security number. The EITC Earned Income Tax Credit is the most accessible of the major entitlement programs and used by more people than food stamps or Medicare and is badly abused to the tune of $47 billion dollars, without paying in a cent into the system. In California taxes have risen to one of the highest in the land, through forced mandates of our government. Think about it? If you are in the low income bracket with a large family as many illegal immigrants seem to have, that family receives an average of $30,000 in governmental benefits! Yet they pay only about $9,000 in taxes per year. That creates a $21,000 shortfall that the American taxpayer has to make up according to the Heritage Foundation.

Here are some ways to eliminate illegal immigrations and put more people to work:

- Legalize ALL illegal immigrants without any process. This make all immigrants are legals and subjected to local laws.

- Eliminate minimum wage. This make more people capable of being employers, instead of only a few big companies capable of being employers.

- Eliminate minimum age. This make more people capable of being employees.

- Eliminate the whole labor laws. This make more people capable of being employers, instead of only a few big companies capable of being employers.

It wouldn't officially happened though, since the laws are unofficially made to make people fight each other under the official disguise of improving lifestyles.

And unlike some people think, these laws aren't beneficial for the employers and the governments either. Why? Well, the employers and the governments want to employ people, they don't want to mess around with laws that limit them.

Who benefit from these laws? The enemy of the USA and the rest of the world.

As for tax payers.

Well, the USA is the country with the BIGGEST debt in the world. Healthcare is only a tiny part of the overall debt.

Shouldn't one focused more on paying debts first?

Maybe the first thing that should be addressed is immigrants, how far back do you go to see who was here first last or what culture was used and when.... The fact is NOW This country as established and the laws, We cannot have that many legals or illegals, it'll kill off our culture our economy and society. If not given the under the table jobs they turn to crime the statistics have been posted dozens of times the past three days in here. Closeing the gate and trying to reform the ones here won't happen.
Growing up we all learned that the responsible thing to do was to clean up after our mistakes. 1965 Congress made a huge mistake. Time to clean up. If Mexico won't make their country better to keep them there CUT THEM off. We don't owe Mexico our their countrymen anything and a side note they don't deserve protection from U.S. Being born Mexican or to Illegal parents doesn't give them the Rights of an American.

I agree in terms of what your saying, but for a much different reason. My wife (who is Korean) is going to the US this year with me (I'm American) and we have to file paperwork and pay fees for her to get an immigrant visa (IV). Essentially, those who are illegally coming into the country are cutting in line and saying, "we are above the law." It must be nice to not have to pay fees or fill out that paperwork. I guess being above the law must feel nice.

ok listen you pay like I do
but the difference I'm not blame
illegal immigrants because who is guilty here
is our government and our immigration system
YES we have a immigation law but look like
nobody care to make respect that AND WHEN
somebody do that "see the case of the two borded patrol"
our government do nothing .

what I try to say here our country don't show up
any tangible interest to solve the illegal immigration problem
or to improve our immigration system.

so keep yelling against who try to improve the own life
is not going to help us to solve the problem but just show
a racism feeling and THAT is totally wrong!!

you want blame someone?
WHITE HOUSE is the right place to complain for...
and ask why we spend billion dollars in Iraq
with the arrogance to claim victory to an invincible war
when we can't even control US-Mexico border!!!

I agree with you in some points but in others I must say no. Do you know how much it cost to become legal? If they are here illegally, all they have is the clothes on their backs. How much did you pay for your passport? Check into it and you will see what I mean.

I agree. It's great that they are going to put up a wall on the Mexican border. They are eating up the tax payer's money.

I completely 100% agree with everything that you are saying. i live in a poorer working class and it's so hard to make ends meet at times and it's not helping that we pay taxes for immigrants while it's not fair for immigrants to work their butts off for a couple bucks to get by.
