the very best treatment for very dry skin is first, a hot soaking bath, scrub with loofa or buff puff for body, then a mix of warm water and a small amount of vasiline (tested and voted the very best in the world, even better then the most expensive lotions for keeping moisture in), drink lots of water to hydrate from the inside too. After the vaseline, use lubriderm for extremly dry skin and you wont beleive the difference. You have to do the body scrub each week for several weeks to get all of the dry dead skin off, and vaseline (dont use lotion, use vaseline only) will teach the skin to hold water, then the lubriderm can add moisture and it should be fine in about six weeks. Nothing else works as well as this treatment.

well try using castor oil.really, i aint joking. IT is a little nasty as it smells a bit bad and is also a little sticky. But really, it does show effect. U could call it a natural therapy. Tell him to try applying castor oil to his palms and hands in the begining just before going to sleep and he can see the effects for himself. But dont apply too much of it as u very well know why. This idea seems a bit awkward but i have myself tried it. My hands too used to get dam dry because of the winter conditions. And i got great results after using it. This might take a week or possibly less. So go on, give it a try.
But if u want to use some company product, then try "nivea" or "vaseline"

This is probably a silly suggestion, but he could try upping his water consumption, which does not include caffeine or alcohol, to about 6 to 8 glasses of water a day, or about 64 ounces. We are, after all, made up of more than 87 or more percent water on the cellular level. (I know I am low on the percent)
And, for me, my doctor suggested (because I get really dehydrated and my skin gets dry and flaky) that when I shower, after I turn off the water, but before I dry off, to put that baby oil stuff on my skin, and wait a couple minutes until it soaks into the skin, then pat dry.
Your boyfriend should see a doctor, and possibly a dermtologist, if it continues for too long. (IMHO) Good Luck, and I hope things smooth out...literally! :-)

Dry, and flakey?
If so, try exfoliating- I thought my hubby had dry skin but it was just ruff dead skin- after exfoliting it got better.
if not, try some Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
(it's really really thick,) or some vaseline. a few applications a day might make it better.

The best product for dry skin believe it or not is good old fashioned petroleum jelly AKA Vaseline. Have him apply it daily at home.......
