Faces. For instance the part about Jesus being in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights. The prophecy is not vague, it is exact. So why do xtians ingore this and observe Good Friday and then Easter when it is not scripturaly correct.

It depends what they think is good or bad for them. They choose accordingly.

Great question - I've been set it as one of my papers for my postgrad (admittedly I haven't started it yet but for what it's worth these are my innitial thoughts)

There was this guy called Marcion who thought we should only take the New Testament seriously (and even then only parts of it) but his theory was rejected as herisy in the 3rd Century (it was resurected by the Nazis as it meant they could get rid of the Jewish bits but its never been seriously followed in the mainstream church - however parts of the Southern Baptists may act as if they do).

The contradictions I suspect you're thinking of can be understood if we look back to the original text in it's cultural context (as I'm sure would advocate for any document).

The Passover rituals meant that there were two sabbaths that weekend... Jesus was executed the day before the sabbath but in this case it was a thursday (we just celebrate it on Good Friday for convenience of having a long weekend)... but admittedly it is a bit confusing.

If you want to post any of your other concerns about contradictions within the Bible I'll do my best to look at those too. It would be a shame for you to carry on rejecting something unneccessarily

The people who were crucified had there legs broken so they could no longer breath on friday before sunset (SABBATH) For it was a rule that no man would be being crucified on the SABBATH. Jesus was alraedy dead. So he was buried as tradition within 24 hours of his death friday evening buthe was daed before he was buried.
friday = Day 1
saturday= day2
sunday = DAY 3 ???????

It's impossible to be completely scripturally accurate because it's such a complex book. That's fine with me, but then they all accuse each other of not being true to the bible and they like to say that they, themselves are. Laughable.
