its according to what your real weakness are and what kind of job it is, i get bored easily, so i asked for my boss to keep my days full. so when the normal job got slow she would bring me things to go over , file, type into the computer, etc, which was good for me.

First of all, a question like this immediately identifies the interviewer as someone without any authority whatsoever and a real nobody filling a warm body position. This means you should be polite and give them a reasonable answer. But, don't go out of your way to impress them. They have zero input as to if you get hired except noticing if there is something dramatically wrong with you and passing that info along to whomever actually makes the decisions.
Second of all, NEVER reveal a real weakness at work....EVER. Work is not a normal environment and the people there are not reasonable or even particularly sane. You never say something like....you know, I live far away and the traffic is bad, so I'm sometimes a couple minutes lat for work. Or, I'm just not worth anything until I've had my morning coffee. Or, I'm uncomfortable handling difficult people. These are real weaknesses many people have. You absolutely, under no circumstances tell the truth about these things. The emperor has no clothes.
Instead, you give a bullshit polite answer. Cough...ahem. I have a tendency to overachieve and outgrow the duties I'm given. More than most people, I need more responsibility and more challenging projects to keep me motivated and growing as a professional.

I disagree with Panacea answer. Most interviewers [HR representatives and Hiring Managers at major Fortune 500 companies] ask candidates about what their weaknesses. A good way to answer the question is to explain your work related weakness and describe what you are doing to improve that skill [taking classes/reading specific resource books].

never ever tell ur weakness in atleast an interveiw.
Make that weakness statement work more impressive for u.
U can say,,my weakness is that i m too much a PERFECTIONIST ,i have to try too hard to accept anywork which is done half heartedly.
or u can say I do not start at my full pace before going to the deepest know how of anything,,like wise u can make a statement for weakness.

When interviewing for an office support position I've said things like "I sometimes have trouble telling people 'no' when they ask for help so I end up with more to do than I can handle". (But that means that I'm a team player and want to help my co-workers...)

I always say that my strength and weakness are one in the same - that I'm independent. This works well when I'm in leadership positions, but can be challenging when I'm part of a group.

Bit of a perfectionist, sometimes I work too hard. Might be too obvious that you're lying though.

Say "actually the only thing that I can think of is, I'm a bit of a people pleaser, NOT a kissu, But I tend to try WAY to hard to please people."
It works..
