American military forces can be involved directly in combat operations to destroy Abu Sayyaf? Present law only allows them to provide training and perform support functions like surveillance and logistics.
Do you think that Abu Sayyaf has any true political or religious philosophy or do they fake it so as to mask their real function ... a criminal organization whose crime of choice is kidnap for ransom?

Even if we allow them in, it won't do any difference anyway. An American soldier cannot do much if he is sick right? I mean no disrespect to the American soldier, but they are here to teach our soldiers modern warfare and they are here so that we can teach them jungle warfare among many others. The support functions that they are here for are enough.

I think hte ASG is a bandit group that is already nearing the end of it's life. They hide under the skirts of their religion and use the Islamic religion to justify their killings.

for what?
have you forgotten the US Bases in Olongapo years ago? the filipino people drove them out of this country because of what they did to our fellow filipinos, to our hometowns, to our country even to our natural resources. have you forgotten the crimes they did?
having them here is not the solution to the problem. if only the government provides for all the basic social services of every filipino..then there would be no wars and other problems for that matter.
