Every new man-made objects have some good and bad properties. Plastic too comes under the same category. You know the properties as well as adverse impact of using a plastic material. So in my opinion, we should go for:
3 R principle:
R=Reduce
R=Recycle
R=Reuse
Which will certainly help in minimizing the ever increasing impact of plastic on the earth.

There is some sort of plastic made with a biodegratable material that takes less time to break down then regular plastic. However, some plastics are good for the human race, we just need to use more of the biodegratble stuff for things like food packaging that is often thrown away!

Actually, the only reason we are on this planet is to produce plastic since the earth can not produce plastic by itself. When the earth has enough plastic we will all die.

The answer is simple... let me explain. On every container you purchase there is a triangle with a number in it. That number tells you what kind of recyclable it is and placed with other Items of the same number it can be made in to another container and reused for another purpose... This process is, as you are aware, recycling. Some states have a cash redemption value for their soda and water bottles and they have seen a large increase in the amount of people recycling but for the most part the individual state governments have done nothing to encourage the act. This is the first step. Get our government to take the initative to pass legislation making it easier to recycle in our communities. It works trust me...
