I am in the U.S. Army and in Iraq right now. I am on my second tour. If you have any questions, just contact me. I can tell you all you need to know as long as it isn’t secret stuff, have to keep my team and the rest of the Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen over here as safe as we can.

You are going to get lots of answers to this question..... :)
My father was there twice. My brother-in-law has been once already and is currently stationed in Baghdad.
Send lots of letters and care packages....he will love it! Good luck to you while you stay here and manage the homefront which in my opinion is just as tough as what your husband is doing....I salute you both!!

i could be going next year. im an MA in the navy (master at arms) its the same as military police. i just enlisted this past summer, 2 days after my 18th b-day. just have to finish HS and then im off to bootcamp. goodluck to your husband, there are a lot of people here that are very lucky to have guys like him willing to do what he does. some people may not realize it but they are very thankful for him. (in some countries people cant ridicule the military and gov't the way so many do here, its a freedom they enjoy a lil too much) but tell you husband thanks from me

I have a few friends there now. I have other friends who have been there and are back home, praying that they aren't picked to go back.
I have other friends who are relieved that their service years are over, and they never returned before the war began. So they could be with their families.
My husbands cousin is over there too.

Future son in law is in Iraq. Very hot in summer with wind and it helps to stay cool. But still hot... Weather now is a lot cooler and raining which makes a lot of mud to deal with. Camel spiders, check the web for that info...very amazing and gross at the same time. Nothing but sand as far as the eye can see. Lots of camels. Son in law doesn't say a whole lot because of security, we have to keep our men and women as safe and secure as possible. I wish your men lots of good luck and may God bless them and keep them safe. I will keep them in my prayers.

i went into iraq on the first wave in march 2003, i was in the marine corps. If your husband like to drink, send him lots of booze while he is gone, write to him and most importantly stay faithful to him. a lot of my marine friends came to find out that their girlfriends or wives had not been faithful and it devistated them. One guy from my batallion killed himself after getting a dear john letter. when you write and you should every day, tell him all the good stuff that is going on not the little stuff that is bothering you. He will have enough stuff to worry about whenhe is there. Tell him good luck and watch his butt.
P.S. be secure in your relationship and send him some porn mags.
