Hi there...although many people think a cat will always land on their feet this isn't always true as it depends on how much time a cat can react to flipping themselves carefully over from the distance they fall. More on why cats may not always land on their feet: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1313&articleid=1106
Cats who fall from higher distances can suffer from high-rise syndrome and a cat's body cannot absorb the shock as well as a shorter distance. More on high-rise syndrome in cats: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=0&cat=2032&articleid=3409

Yes it is true , both cats and dogs fall on their feet . if you hold a cat or a dog so that their back is facing the floor or the ground and lat it fall , you will see that it can adjust itself so that it fall on the feet , but sometimes both of them loose balance. cats' balance is stronger than the dogs' balance.

Not at all. I know that's a myth. My one cat is the clumsiest creature on four legs that you ever saw. One time she fell off a ledge (showing off) and she dislocated her hip.

Mostly yes. When a cat lands you'll notice it usually shakes its head. This is because they are re-balancing their ear wax because their earwax evens them weight out.
