It is true but not all kids are the same. while some kids are healthy, other kids are either overweight or close to becoming anorexic. if you go to diet and fitness, you can see all these people asking how to lose weight really fast or if you stop eating for a long time will you lose weight and alot of them are kids or teenagers. see? i totally agree with you about US kids becoming overweight and its probabaly because our society is becoming more and more advanced and soon, kids wont even have to get up and do something because they'll have robots doing it for them! In the olden days, you had to do everything by yourself and you got tons of excersize and the food was much healthier but now its completely different. In the future we will all be sitting on our ***'s and tell our robots to clean the house or walk the dog! Even though there are tons of obese kids, dont forget the ones that are starving themseleves becasue they think they arent skinny enough!

One of the biggest problems is a larger majority of our society is slipping down the income ladder. More and more people are living at or near the poverty line. These people are living on the "Wal-Mart" budget. The foods they can afford are prepackaged, full of empty calories, carbs...etc They're eating cheap foods that are bad for them. Kids also spend less time out playing and more time in front of the TV.

I have a five year old and I do my best to make sure he eats healthy foods, even though we can't afford all of the organic and expensive stuff you find at specialty stores. We also joined the YMCA, so that we could all stay active (It's hard to get outside to do stuff when it's only 3 degrees and icy)

Most of them eat fast foods but with little or no veggies. Most fast foods are breaded and cooked in saturated oil fats. They also don't get much exercise, always in front of TV, Internet or playing video games. Most of them will become obese by age 18.

Honestly? The parents don't care anymore. It's quick dinners, frozen foods, and TV. Parents are so busy anymore, it's all too easy to tell the kids to go watch TV, while the mom and dad take a few minutes to just relax. I've done it myself. But I have to remind myself that they can't live in front of the TV, or skip dinner and have a candy bar for bedtime.

What is the most important thing in our country, the USA? Money. That is your answer. Also lots of wrong info on how to lose weight. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.

But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.

So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. See site below.

kids eat more intensely fattening food and exercise less then they did 15 years ago. If you want to help get a program going in your neighborhood promoting exercise that kids haven't been exposed to yet. Like an afterschool yoga program or dance class.

Fast food and other junk food, lack of mandatory phys ed in schools, and computer and video games all contribute to obesity in kids.
