religions are colts, but some colts are off-shoots of religion, they usually don't withstand the test of time. some colts are within a religion, so it would conceivably be a colt within a colt. For instance, the colt of Mary within the Catholic colt is such a colt.

I think you've already gotten the best points above to add up into your very cleverly intelligent mind. Religion is keeping it organized as it regulates a form of group in spirituality, So as 'YES' it requires one to follow through within its set beliefs and principles. It may call for a duty to abide the rules of a certain organization or formed group, whereas Spirituality is much more free and uninhibited in beliefs and interactions with the living universe in one's consciousness or creations. However the only thing that relates similarity between religion and spirituality is that both have their own (composed) spiritual values regardless of whatever..(specifically whether good or bad) xxPQ..

It's too easy.... Anyway, a cult is usually defined by having its being and teachings based on one single person. It is also used in name calling to marginalize another religion. Originally Christianity was viewed as a cult by the Jews and Romans because they felt that the teachings were based solely on Jesus Christ. Over time Christianity grew in popularity, and other great religious teachers emerged. Until today when it is rarely if ever referred to as a cult. Cults are also sometimes identified by zealous followers.

If you mean cults, then cults are man made religions which swing far from the fundamentals of Biblical teaching. Religion tends to be man made also. When you go through empty motions without any real meaning then your wasting you time. Read the New Testament prayerfully and let God guide you through it. Then find others who are seeking Gods presence. You'll know it when you find the place where you belong.

you mean cults you fool! it all comes down to the amount of members. There is actually a specific amount of members of people who follow a certain idea that distinguish it from being a cult or a religion. also, religions are a set of beliefs usually referencing a higher being, while cults can be based on anything.
