just take it and swing it in different directions. you'll learn in a few days how to control it. then you can start with other things with it.

without training nunchuckas, song ya bongs are pretty hard to learn and be effective with them. It's not a matter of just picking them up and swinging it takes professional training and lots of practice to get good with any weapon, commas, double nuncha, staff or swords requires years of practice to get proficient. my nephew has been in taekwondo for 10 yrs and has taken several championships with weapons.. It is only through daily practice that you can learn how to use them. But the use of weapons must come with the caveat of learning the discipline of when they are used and are not effective.

Nunchaku or Nunchucks are really hard to use, because they don't flow. If you want to learn how to use them try to do Kung Fu, that uses Nunchaku.

The weapon is correctly spelled nunchaku.
You really need to find a qualified instructor to teach you how to use them. Look for kobudo schools in your area. They are an advanced weapon and usually taught after the bo, tonfa and sai.
