I read an article in Consumer Reports that said the Ion ones were a joke. I want one for the baby's room.

I dunno, is there a punch line?

It depends on the kind you get. Research them a lot! I've heard the Ion ones are not good for your health. But, air purifiers can take a lot of nasty things out of the air like dust, allergens, and other impurities. If you want to get one, just make sure you do research on it first.

You don't need more ions, you just want clean air. The Ionic Breeze by Sharper Image is probably the best consumer model. They're not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. That's what I'd want for my baby's room.

Heck no- I have an IonicBreeze and I love the heck out of it. You can totally tell the difference in the air. Also- I quit smoking and before I did- you could see the tar being picked up on it. Now it is more dusty stuf. It works.

We have Oreck's and the Sharper Image ones....you would not believe the crap we pull out of those things every week. I believe in em....Also, as soon as we started using them, the air in the house seemed much fresher.

Yeah, but the only ones laughing are the people selling them and the actors they hire to advertise them in those hour long infomercials.

Save your cash and your baby. Most of them aren't strong enough to do anything, they would hare to rapidly recycle the air in the whole room and that wont happen. More important if it worked liked they claimed it would increases ozone which is actually considered a pollutant.

Seriously, do the math. It doesn't work in a normal room in a normal home.
