Cats can and do overindulge for many of the same reasons as humans. They are prone to many of the same problems humans encounter as a result of overindulging, including heart attacks and strokes.
They are not all that smart, and require a disciplined owner to properly care for them. There are a lot of things that can adversely impact their health and livelihood, so talk to your veterinarian about what and how much to feed your cat.

Overeating one time would not likely cause a cardiac episode. A cat who is extremely obese and over eats constantly could certainly be likely to have a heart attack, liver problems, diabetes, etc. Often in animals a seizure is mistaken for a heart attack. If you cat is exhibiting severe symptons, take him/her to an emergency veterinary clinic.

Overtime if they are overwieght cats they are at a higher risk to have a heart attack. As far as eating to much at one sitting. Cats know when to stop eating just like humans. They might be uncomfortable for a bit but that won't last long.

As in all animals and humans over eating and obesity can lead to heart problems. Keep a tab on his/her eating..its not fair on them either as being overweight slows them down!...>^..^<
( domestic cats will eat when hungry most of the time-there are some exceptions-if you notice they try to 'bury or hide' their food as they would in the wild to come back to it...if not sure limit the amount of food over the day!)

I don't know but I don't think it would eat so much to so much to cause a heart attack and if it is possible I think it's unlikely.

If they eat too much at once, probably not....but if they are overeating on a regular basis and are severely overweight, they can suffer from a number of problems...
