Lack of sleep will cause your internal organs to age faster, no kidding.

Lack of sleep at your age can stunt your growth.

Lack of sleep, enough sleep, at your age can interfere with your ability to learn and do well in school.

You go long enough with not enough sleep and it can mess up your brain to where you being to have mental issues, like seeing things that are not there, etc. Really, sleep deprivation can cause all kinds of serious problems.

You need to do more to get sleep. If you do not get enough sleep at night, then come home from school if you can and sleep for an hour. You are not getting enough sleep at your age with only four to five hours. New research has proven that teens, which you almost are, need as much as ten hours of sleep a night to develop healthy body and brain.

Hi Eye, You could get sooo run down that you would have to go to the hospital. Or you might stress your heart out,and start having problem with that. Our bodies specially when we are young need 7 to 8 full hours of sleep. When you get up in your late 40's or 50's you don't need as must sleep. We are all on a time clock,at difference stations. That's just how it is.

You will become more irritable. You will have a harder time concentrating. You will feel more tired and not be able to keep up with most tasks. It will be harder to answer questions. You will become stressed out. You will not be able to cope with loud noises as much and you will not be able to handle situations as easily.

I have an 11 year old who struggled to sleep. I saw this in him as well. It may take a little bit of time before you notice the effects and in fact, you personally may not notice them at all, it's those around you who will begin to suffer because of your lack of sleep. So if someone starts mentioning your change in behavior, take the hint, get more sleep. If you need help sleeping, talk to your parents and they can talk to your doctor about a prescription.

Maybe, you need only that much sleep! The body is a wonderful, unique machine: in individual cases, it can adjust and adapt very well! But if you develop symptoms associated with lack of sufficient sleep, watch out! (tiredness, irritability, low stamina, drowsiness and lethargy are some of the symptoms!)

Oooh you will get so cranky and irritable! You'll have trouble focussing and become forgetful. Your energy levels wont be what they should be. If you play on a computer before bed it is supposed to confuse your mind into thinking it is daytime. I suppose cos of the lights and speed of things you are seeing in front of you. So maybe leave the pc for a while before you need to sleep.

That's not good! You won't be able to function well, you might fall asleep, and when it comes time to work, you might be usign that math book as a pillow. Drink something for an energy boost, if you must. It works for me sometimes. And if you have a cd player, mp3 player, bring that. That keeps me from falling asleep. You should go to a doctor.

I would go to bed earlier if I were you. I almost always have bags under my eyes & all of my friends notice.

Good luck! Hope this helps!

Cell reproduction will be stunted and cuts you have will heal slower.
You are prone to cancer.
Your body's immune system will be in the dumps.
You'll be depressed [might get a chemical imbalance of seritonin].
