ive always been the class clown kind of guy. tryin to make people laugh. i can be immature at times, like alot of highschool guys. im not a jock though. to the point, my brother is 22, im 16, and he has a girlfriend that is 17(i know, big age difference). she goes to a neighboring highschool and our proms are joined. hes pressuring me to get a date to the prom. his reasoning is it would be lame for me to not go and him to go because i actually go to the school, and he doesnt. well ive never been a dance person, never considered going this year. i think i will for him though. and partially so i dont feel like a loser for not going, knowing hell rub it in for forever afterwards. so the question isnt whether or not i should get a date, but more, is my class clown attitude gonna help me get a yes from the girl i want to ask? what should my attitude be around her in the days before i ask and how should i ask her to go with me? thanks for any help

First of all, I dont think that you should be going at all if its just for your brother. Secondly, why the hell is he going out with a 17 year old? Im 23, and I know I would never have anything in common with someone that much younger than myself. But, those are my opinions and besides the fact.
How you act before you ask the girl out is going to depend on the girl. If I were in your shoes, since you dont really want to go to the dance anyways, why dont you ask a girl thats a friend and keep it as that. Just go as friends. Youll have a lot more fun not having to worry about the issues of "a date", you guys can just hang out, do some dinner, and some dancin, just have a good time. Thats my thought on the subject. If someone likes you, they like you for the person you are already. If you are already known as kind of a class clown, you aren't going to change that perception in a few days before asking a girl to the prom. Just be yourself. Just make it clear to her that you are sincere and would really like her company to the prom. Be serious and keep the joking at a distance.

think of somebody you admire an actor in a good [girl movie]
be one with the actor until you find your style
seriously, take her to the movie
and try to act like the actor
dress the part, even if she see's thru it, she will admire your trying to impress her
get rid of the clown suit
write on your mirror " I will have a date for the prom"
don't mention any of this to bro

Yes I would definetly go to your prom.Even if it ends up being stupid atleast you could say you went and have that memory. Act normal around the girl that you want to ask out otherwise she'll just think your acting wierd. Girls like men to be funny so don't worry about girls not wanting to go out with you because of that. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Just be your self funny guys always get girls, make her laugh and flirt with her, and call her up and ask her if she doesn't have a date if she wants to go with you to the prom.

why change who your are, being a class clown can have its advantages. maybe you could humor her with a smile here and there, or accidently bump into her, and say oh! wow, your pretty.
or sorry, and as you look into her eyes, say.. my my you have awesome looking eyes, and smile.. you know.. use your humor and most of all just be you..
