There hasn't been a shot fired in anger since the War of 1812 or something like that date. So we get along pretty well for two very different Countries, but Canada is in serious disagreement over the Iraq policy, but even that has not made us enemies.
However, the trade issues are also testing our patience with each other. The beef and Mad Cow disagreement along with the Timber policy have also been hard to deal with, but in the end Canada and The United States must get along because there is no other way.

Canada is neither. Are we neighbours yes, are we friends yes. But like any friendship sometimes it is tested, and now are those times. We do not like (as a country) the direction the US is heading. The old your way or no way is wearing out thin on the world stage and we all wish you could be a bit more humble. We all think our home countries our great but be more like us and be secure in just knowing it. Saying it 10 times a day gets tiring and makes Americans look insecure.

I wouldn't say I'm against the United States. I don't agree with thier president. I can't wait to see that guy out of office. I don't agree with our own government for crying out loud!!

Why would you think we're against the US?
That's like asking if you are for or against your next door neighbour.
We're neither, we're just neighbours. Sometimes we bring your trashbins up from the curb and sometimes we let our dog poop in your yard.

I have lots of American friends, and I love them, but most of us are against the government, or at least certain main politicial figures...*cough*Bush
