My pimples are leaving red/purple marks...?

And I don't know why. I don't pop them. They used to just go away but now they are leaving marks which makes it look like the pimples are still there. It's ruining my face.. Someone told me that i just had to wait for it to go away, but I also heard that could take up to 12 months. How do I get rid of them faster? Any simple methods?

Might sound weird and something crazy to do. But, toothpaste really works. Don't have to go out and buy a expensive brand use the one you have at your house.
