The simple answer is:

You can NOT "Control" teenage children ...

This is the time when the formative years you spent teaching them "right from wrong" and SHOWING them the way to LIVE an Honorable Life is now past, and they are starting on the path to independent lives.

That does NOT mean that there are NO RULES .. I set HOME RULES ... and yes, there were CONSEQUENCES for not following them .. which is a way of easing the teen into the adult world.

At 18 yrs of age .. if the 'child' is still in the home .. and does NOT feel like RESPECTING the PARENT or the HOME .. then they need to be "helped" out of the home and given the ability to LEAVE the nest for their own ADULT LIFE.

IF they make wrong choices ... let them TAKE THE CONSEQUENCES.

IF they make good choices -- celebrate!

Interesting use of the word "control". Do you mean something like telling them what to do and having them actually do it? Good luck. to get right down to it, it's impossible to "control" another person. What you can do is set examples, make suggestions and, under some circumstances, physically prevent another from doing something. But "control" is impossible. Focus instead on discussion and negotiations. You can exert influence if you are honest, loving and supportive. Remember, in their teens, kids aren't operating with the same experience or brainpower that parents have. Kids are still learning and have to make some mistakes of their own. If the mistakes won't kill or harm them, let them make the mistakes. They'll learn. Teens are tough. If you have really significant problems, consider teen therapy groups, family therapy, individual therapy. Good luck.

IN "TEEN" TIME URCHILD IS IN A VERY DELICATE STAGE,THE MORE U TRY TO CATCH THEM THE MORE THEY WILL GO AWAY FROM U. I WOULD SUGGEST DONT TRY TO STOP THEM INSTEAD BE FRIENDLY WITH THEM, MEANS START TALKING WITH THEM ABOUT BOYFRIEND,GIRLFRIEND ANDSEX,,,,,,AND OTHER THINGS, MAKE THEMFEEL COMFORTABLE TALKING WITH U OR DISCUSSING WITH U ALMOST EVERY THING (BUT DO IT SLOWLY&GRADUALLY),WHEN SHE/HE WILL DISCUSS THINDGS WITH UTHIS WILL BECOMNE A KIND OFCONTROLING.BUT DONTEVER TRY TO INTERFERE IN HER/HIS PERSONAL.MAKE IT A LIMIT TO THAT EXTANT HOW MUCH HE/SHE IS GONNA TELL U.MOST IMP THING BE FRIENDLY THATS ALL
