I've got this painful kanker sore on the front and to the side of my tongue. Probably from a cold, but i'm not sure. Either way, does anyone have any good remedies for a kanker sore?

You could use ora-gel or abreva. I've used ora-gel most of the time... it numbs the area - and usually numbs your whole mouth... but it's worth it sometimes to not have to feel the pain of the sore!! good luck! =0)

oh yes, and you could also try to AVOID getting these sores... if they are common for you, that is. I was told that eating pineapples, or other acidic foods may cause them- sometimes even tomatoes! So I stopped eating anything with pineapple... and voila! *No sores!* YAY!

The worst part of when I used to get them was that it almost ALWAYS happened to be when it was time for my dentist check-up... which meant they were messing around in my mouth - which was painful!!!

Its Canker Sore. I do always have it esp when I get tired of too much work, stress, fatigue and the like. Healing process depends on the person's body. As what others advise, salt soak in water and gargle it, may and may not cure it. I had done it before. I had used Alum too as per advised, it didn't cure also. I was given something "violet" liquid type from Thailand, no avail also. The best thing that cured mine so easily is a medicine I got from a Doctor of Internal Medicine. I have a powder medicine to drink (3x a day if the pain is so tense). Then an oitment to be applied on the canker sore. This oitment is called "Kenalog" in alphabetical wording. It would really help stop the pain and will be cured in a day or two, if not sever. For severe ones, in just a week but won't feel the pain as long as you will take the medicine. Oitment must be applied 2 or 3 times a day, every after meal and before sleeping. *So try to check at your nearest drug store if they have available oitment like this or maybe in another language but the same oitment. For the powder medicine, Doctor's prescription is needed as you might have an allergy reaction. It is called "hange shashin tou"

I didnt think you could get kanker sores on your tongue... Anyways, try drinking more water. Someone told me that blisters on your tongue could be from dehydration.

You can't get rid of canker sores.
You can however, swish your mouth out with Listerine and salt.
