You should get at least a $200 camera. It will be better for picture quality. Get a Canon camera.

Optical zoom, not digital. 4 or 5 megapixels is plenty.

Search the newspapers on Sunday. The big box retailers usually have one or another camera on sale, sometimes including a memory card. Stay with Canon, Nikon, Olympus or Kodak. At that price range, you are looking at a basic entry level point & shoot without many features.

When you find one, read the manual!!! That will help you get the most from your camera.

Well if I were you I would get one that has digital zoom for one thing and My favorite brand is Olympus
