I go to work everyday and come home at night. My beagle was the only one left inside the house..so when i came home, everything was a disaster! my sofa,shoes..everything. I already tried to put him on his cage, but he kept on barking and didn't like to be there. I live in a condo, and it's a shame if he keeps on making a noise. Please help..i hope it's not too late.

U can buy "Bitter Apple"U can spray everything w/ it!! If u catch him in the act then tell him "NO" & lightly tap him on the nose or his butt! Keep doing this & soon he will relaize what he is doing is wrong!! U can also get an old newspaper & roll it up & when u catch him in the act of doing something wrong hit (lightly) w/ the newspaper on the butt (it won't hurt him) but the sound will scare him & that will make him stop!! Good Luck!! My family has used this method in the past & it works! MY brother is also a vet & he uses this method as well!!

have you ever take him to dogs trainning or ever train youre dog by useing some dogs trainning books when ever you have free time . cause if you didnt then its good idea that you can try to take youre dog for a trainning at the petsmart place they do help the owners to how to control their pets not to bite or jump or whatever you want not to do. well courst not dogs do like to be inside the cage they thinking that the cages like a jail place . well its not wrong to do that put youre dog in the cage if he does bark again put a blanket sheet over the cage any might stop barkin or you can put him outside instead if you dont want hear him keep barking . well by having him not chewing on the whole house you should gave him some thing that he like to chew on like dogs bones or toys that isnt plastics . play with him to keep him busy and feel happy . if youre so tired then gave him some treats or foods to keep him queit .

i have a beagle also. they don't like to be alone. first thing you gotta do is "puppy proof" your house-he should not be allowed to be in the same area as the sofa, no shoes should be in his reach etc. i have gated off an area in my house that the dogs are allowed in (i have 3 dogs-the beagle and 2 lab mixes-1 dog is 100+lbs and the other is approx 70-75 lbs) they are only allowed in certain areas and these areas are "dog proof". they like to chew at any age as this is their nature-my dogs enjoy chew hooves-they are natural chews (cow hooves) that you can get at petsmart for $8.49 per bag of 10. they last a long time, dogs love them-the only bad thing is=they stink but worth it to me anyway as it keeps them happy. your 1 yr old dog is still a puppy as i'm sure you know-i hope this helps and by the way-i work 40 hrs per week also.

It doesn't sound like you have the time to train this dog properly. You're just too busy.

Your dog has a behavior problem that you in all likelihood caused. Until you decide that you can devote about 20 minutes a day to systematically teaching your dog what he needs to know, discipline yourself to reinforce the training every time, and don't let your dog train you, you don't have a chance.

There is no "quick or easy cure" for the problems you described. Solving them will require patience, determination, and love on your part. There are many good books that can help you if you have the inclination and time to devote to it.

Obedience training for your dog can help, but only if you are disciplined and recognize that you are the one that needs to be trained first.

Hm... take him to a vet. Ask the vet questions and I'm sure she'll help you. OR get advice from a neighbor or a friend to train it or leave it with someone who is trained in training dogs. There's no shame in asking for help. :) Good Luck, I hope this helps!
