could be sinus infection or even lymph nodes.. at any rate I wouldn't be going to the ER for that and I wouldnt let anyone freak you out saying its heart trouble either... I swear people always want to jump to that on here!!! Are you really willing to pay several hundred dollars for this though? even with insurence they are going to run all sorts of test and you will end up getting a bill.

Take some advil and maybe put a warm washcloth over the area that hurts and see if anything drains from the ear.

I used to have something simular as well.. I would also wake up to a "waxy" ear..gross I know and it was nothing except me sleeping on one side to long and ear canal produced extra wax to compensate.. I also did not have good pillows on the bed at all and that was really the big contributer. I went to the chiropracter and got realligned and bought new pillows and I'm fine now.

Sounds like sinus problems.

Maybe an ear infection. Maybe you are grinding your teeth as you are sleeping that will also cause pain.

Yes, you are headed to the right place. If you were to call the hospital before you drive there, I bet they would say to have someone else drive you. It sounds to me like you are maybe having some kind of heart malady.

I would say it is either a toothache, absess in the tooth or earache as they ar hard to distinguish from one another.

Stop wasting your time with people on the Internet who can't examine you and go talk to a real doctor...
