The cosmic evolution of 14 billion years in the making with the big bang. Then with the sun forming 5 billion ago, the Earth 4.5 billion, life soon after that. Then around 5 million years ago, we began our steps from our ape ancestors to beginings of humanity. Then to about 150,000 years ago we show up in our current form as we are today.

Or that the universe and the Earth formed around 6,000 years ago. With life evolving seperately then humans just appear all on there own, made from dust perhaps. The humans that showed up fully formed but not very smart. Since god forbid Adam and Eve from the tree of knowledge. I guess afraid that they would find out the truth about him. It was better that they were kept in the dark.

If I had to chose, I think it so much more beautiful and humbling that humans and all other life, evolved from a single instance of life. Over billions of years, you get the amazing diversity of the biological world. After all, we are all made of the same stuff.

That stuff being Carbon, Oxygen, Nitrogen and Hydrogen. All biological life from trees to us are made of those exact elements.

Don't forget slime mold, ants, fish, lions and even dinosaurs and trilobites. All made of those same elements we are made of. Awesome!!! Thank you science.

...and if you chose option 2, how can you? If there was a god, wouldn't option 1 be an more awesome proof of god's handy work since the science of evolution is better than the science of genesis.

remember the bible is not a book of history and information. The authors had no knowledge, no science of their actual circumstances. They invented the idea of god to help fill in the gaps.

The first scenario is much more likely. Fossil evidence proves that.

The biblical account tells how man was made from the dust of the ground... All of these elements you mentioned are found there. The same building blocks are there for everything.. This theory of ooze to scholar, does not explain the aw some diversity we see in flora and fauna. If everything is made of the same"stuff"
Things would be more similar, not more diverse.
And the evolutionary time frame, does not really allow for the amount of mutations that have to occur and secure dominance in the total breeding population.
These changes take place minutely, not in tremendous jumps.

It seemed to me in my quest for knowledge,, evolution required more blind faith than the account according to scriptures.

egad! who came up with 6000? the devil? (6 IS the devil's number, why can't those fundies see that????!!!!)
God probably made the cosmos in 3 stellar days, which, by my reckoning, since I'm guessing, is about 2 trillion years. A mere drop in the ocean of time....

It's all about perspective. Both use science to show their belief but each are quite strong, neither can seem to see from the others perspective.

The simpler explanation is the one that doesn't invoke the supernatural.
