One good way to meet people is to find a Web site that you are passionate about, and get involved on the message boards there.
Keep in mind, that if people online are the same as they were 10 years ago when I was in the dating scene (pre-eHarmony days)... there are some cautions I want to share with you:
- people lie, even about their gender (I once began "dating" a man online, and much later I found out that "he" was actually a "she" with a low voice!)
- people lie, even about their marital status (I knew many people who ended up "dating" others who claimed to be single, and ended up being married with children... and "happily" married...)
- people lie, even about "who they are" (it is easy to be "whoever you want to be" online... no one can see you or know the real deal... so it is easy for people to hide behind masks here, to the tune of even 20 member ID's at any given Web site... yikes)
One of the weirdest things I ever experienced was a controversy at an online forum where I hung out a lot. There kept being these fights going on among several of the members. In the end, it turned out to be ONE member, with several computers, and with the ability to type lightning fast, and with FAR too much time on their hands... who could make it appear as if all of these different people were online at once, when it was really just one person. One of their characters would become your friend, then the other of their characters would become your friend and talk meanly about the first character... then they would both play against you to try to make you gossip about each other "behind the other's back"... it was crazy. Not all people online are like that. But when there is one, sometimes it makes life REALLY crazy. So just be on the lookout.
Know that it's out there, and be forewarned. I much prefer the natural process of meeting people offline in my day to day activities like work, church, sports, hobbies, social/professional organizations, clubs, volunteerism, etc. That way, before you ever go out with a person, you have watched them working or playing and interacting with other people around them for awhile... IN PERSON. And you don't walk blindly into these weird situations where you are clueless.

go and post a profile on a dating site...its easier beacause there are other people looking for a date and the website will automatically pair you with someone with similar interests and it will put you in contact with the girl...good luck =)
